How to Get to Gili Trawangan

I'm Yarra from Bandung, Indonesia. This is my first time to write, and I'm going to present the beauty of archipelago province, called Lombok.

From Jakarta Airport (Soekarno Hatta) to Lombok Airport (Praya)

Our destination is an island called "Gili Trawangan". In Lombok, Gili means island. Lombok consists of several beautiful islands. 

How to Get There

1. So when you're ready with all tees, suits, dresses, bikinis, flops, camera, and please... no heels or wedges needed :p it's time to prepare your departure from Jakarta airport (Bandara Soekarno Hatta), to Lombok airport (Praya). It takes about 2 - 3 hours by plane. Me and hubby flew with Batik Airlines, and we like it. Not too costly, comfy, safe flight, good service. We departed from Jakarta at 8.50 am, arrived in Praya about 11 am. Time difference is an hour.

2. Once you arrived in Praya, get your stuff on, no need to worry about public vehicles. Just walk to exit way, and there'll be some public vehicle services waiting for you. You can rent a car, take a cab, but we prefer to ride Damri. It's a public bus, and will bring you to Senggigi.

3. From Senggigi, we rent a car to continue our journey to Bangsal. Thank God there were 6 of us, so we can share the cost. Each of us paid about IDR 50,000,-

4. Once you're arrived in Bangsal, again, no need to worry. There are 2 ways to get to Gili Trawangan: 

• By fast boat, which will cost you about IDR 75,000.-/person; or
• By public boat, which will cost you about IDR 15,000.-/person

By fast boat, you can get to Gili Trawangan earlier. By public boat, you should wait until the boat is fully occupied. We went by second option, and it doesn't need much time to wait. Maybe about 10 or 15 minutes. Just order the ticket there, they will give you ticket with specific color. Once the boat is full, they will announce... "For passengers with red ticket (or white or yellow, depends on what ticket they are selling), please prepare your departure with ___ (boat name)." So it's time to ride boat with other 39 fellow travelers :D FUNNNN!!!

5. Aaanddd finally, we arrived at Gili Trawangan, and directly went to Intan Inn by foot :p It only takes about few minutes.
